The Department of Teaching and Learning provides a range of services and resources for integrating information literacy throughout the academic curriculum and contributing to students' lifelong learning, supporting the teaching and learning mission of UCR.
Course-Related Instruction
We offer instruction on information literacy concepts and research skills. This can look like:
- Bringing your class to a library classroom
- A librarian visiting your classroom
- Independent student assignments in the library outside of class time
- Synchronous online instruction
- Requiring students to book research consultations with a librarian
- Working with a librarian to exhibit student work at the library or online

Asynchronous Learning
We offer interactive tutorials and research guides to build information literacy skills and support your teaching outside of face-to-face and synchronous classroom environments. This can look like:
- Tutorials and research guides available on the library website
- Tutorials and research guides imbedded in Canvas shells
